SIGRID JAMES, PhD, MSW is professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Welfare at the University of Kassel in Germany where she teaches seminars on social work research, practice methods and residential care in an international context. Until 2016 she held a tenured professorship at Loma Linda University, Department of Social Work and Social Ecology, in California, USA. She has completed a Fellowship in Dissemination and Implementation Research at Washington University (2010-12), held two guest professorships in Germany and was the Editor-in-Chief for the peer-reviewed journal Residential Treatment for Children and Youth until 2018.

Prof. Dr. James joined the ERCCI project because it converges with her interests in the provision of effective treatments and services for children in public child-serving systems, in particular those children who have experienced episodes in residential and psychiatric settings.
